teaching.
Coach P develops athletes of all sports and all ages, who have a strong desire to become better athletes through specialized individual
programs designed for the athlete and the sport. Coach P can be heard saying "How hard do you work when no
one is watching?".
Training with Coach P allows the athlete to benefit from a watchful eye, careful in the consideration of proper form in all aspects of sport. Learn the proper techniques of your sport before you develop bad habits. The experience and close personal attention to each individual athlete's needs will jump start you on a career in sport that will last a lifetime. It is this attention to detail that allows for gains that will transfer to increased ability and confidence in competition.
Coach P's teaching style reflects his vast experience and education in sports science. Athletes will enjoy returning for the next training session, and look forward to breaking personal records in a multitude of training modalities that are assessed regularly. Coach P understands athletes are always in a state of change, and thus, programs adapt to the athletes' needs. Progression is not a competition with others, but with yourself. The goal is improving in some capacity, with each session.
The specialized training from Patterson Performance is an art in itself. Sports performance coaches are recognized as specialists in athlete preparation and maintenance. Do not expect this level of attention, experience and education from your head coach. With the focus on strategy and skill development, coaches do not have the time to acquire the in-depth understanding needed to prepare athletes, nor should they be expected to. At elite levels, great coaches delegate authority to specialists of all aspects of competition, so that they have the time to become a specialist in leadership.
